Sinopsis Drama Youth of May
Youth of May adalah drama tentang dua orang muda yang terseret dalam Pemberontakan Gwangju yang terjadi pada Mei 1980.
Hwang Hee Tae (diperankan oleh Lee Do Hyun) adalah pembuat onar yang membenci apa pun yang bisa diprediksi. Hidupnya digambarkan sebagai “perang melawan prasangka,” dan untuk mematahkan prasangka terhadap anak laki-laki yang dibesarkan oleh ibu tunggal, ia memperoleh nilai tertinggi dan bahkan masuk ke Sekolah Tinggi Kedokteran Universitas Nasional Seoul. Dia juga bermain gitar dan suka pergi ke kafe musik. Namun, karena kejadian tak terduga, ia akhirnya mengalami Mei terberat dalam hidupnya.
Kim Myung Hee (diperankan oleh Go Min Si) adalah perawat pekerja keras yang meninggalkan rumah dan sekarang tinggal di Gwangju seorang diri. Meskipun dia tidak cukup ramah untuk menghibur pasien yang menangis, dia cukup pintar dan terampil untuk menemukan pembuluh darah yang tepat dalam sekali percobaan. Dia lebih seperti seorang pejuang daripada malaikat, dan tidak seperti penampilannya yang cantik, dia memiliki penampilan luar yang dingin.
Lee Soo Ryun (diperankan oleh Geum Sae Rok) adalah sahabat Kim Myung Hee. Dia memiliki kepribadian yang santai yang tampak terbuka dengan penampilannya yang rapi. Berasal dari keluarga kaya, dia merasa bertanggung jawab untuk menjadi yang terdepan dalam menjamin keadilan dalam masalah sosial. Lee Soo Chan (diperankan oleh Lee Sang Yi) adalah kakak laki-laki Soo Ryun. Dia membantu ayahnya dalam bisnis keluarga setelah kembali dari studinya di Prancis.
